When there is a heatwave on there is only one thing for it: a barbecue! As soon as the sun is out that event you had planned has to become a barbecue event, even if that original event was your wedding!
After all, why not? A barbecue might not seem like the most typical wedding dinner, but when the sun is shining there are very few dining experiences that feel more special than it. Seems like a good fit for your special day, then!
That was the thinking of one of our happy newlywed couples this past weekend as Hog Roast Kington came out to a sun-soaked venue ready to grill the night away! Taylor and Anna have been in conversation with us for some time. It had always been discussed that there may be an opportunity to do something fun with the venue’s wonderful garden grounds. The pair had picked their venue because it picked up so much sun, and being a summer wedding they were gambling on it being a perfect sunny day. There’s no guarantees like that in the UK, but with the onset of this heatwave they certainly got their rewards for the gamble!
That meant we could execute our plans exactly as intended. After the ceremony, rather than the more traditional canapes and drink services that Hog Roast Kington might run, we instead got set up in the garden with our own barbecue. This was a nice surprise for all of the guests as we paired all of the photo opportunities and general post-wedding ceremony chit chat with some delicious burgers, sausages, and skewers. With the sun out the entire event was just wonderful. Guests were free to come and pick up a roll or two or free at their leisure throughout the afternoon up until we went back inside to actually serve the main wedding meal in a more traditional set course menu. It was the perfect example of where planning and timing go hand in hand to make the best experience for all!
