Your wedding day is one of the few days in life where everything is all about you; and over the course of the last few years, Hog Roast Eardisland has watched as more couples embrace that fact by going wild with customising their big days!
Themes are one of the most common ways in which brides and grooms inject some personality into their events. Plus, they add an element of fun and playfulness, which guests always appreciate.
In our time spent catering for weddings, we have seen some very unique themes! Most recently, we were asked to serve our Formal Wedding Catering With Evening Buffet Menu at Sara and Logan’s Disney-themed wedding.
The bride wore a Cinderella-style ball gown, complete with tiara, while her bridesmaids sported dresses that were subtly inspired by other well-known princesses. The groom and his best men had a similar setup.
Inside the reception hall, each dining table had a name inspired by a Disney film and was decorated accordingly. For example, the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ table was called ‘The Red Rose’ and featured a rose encased in a glass dome, gold candlesticks and petals, which were sprinkled across the table.
The guests loved how much thought the couple had put into the theme, which made the day feel all the more magical. They were also very pleased with the food on offer, which Hog Roast Eardisland had spent hours preparing under the direction of catering manager, Michele!
Our waiting staff greeted the guests with a canapé selection and refreshments as soon as they arrived in the dining hall, which was followed by a starter of homemade soup with crusty bread rolls and butter. Next, we wowed their senses with our whole roasted free-range pig, sirloin of English beef and delightful grilled veggie skewers, which were presented with a variety of side dishes comprising dauphinoise potatoes, fresh salads, coleslaw and glazed market vegetables.
Next, Hog Roast Eardisland plated up the profiteroles and vacherins of strawberries with passion fruit cream and served them to the seated guests, after which everyone made their way into the dance hall for the couple’s first dance.
Several hours later, Hog Roast Eardisland reappeared before the group with a buffet of yummy hot sausage and bacon barms and wedding cake slices, which they were all in need of after so much talking and dancing!
