A rare one for the Hog Roast Kington team this week. We’re well used to catering for birthday parties. Sometimes these parties even double as a joint effort for two birthdays close together. But it is rare for us to be invited along to a party for three people at once, never mind when those three are also triplets.
Yes, it was triple the fun with a trio of 49th birthdays all to be celebrated in one big bash, with catering courtesy of the Hog Roast Kington team. With triple the celebrations, you’ve got triple the memories to make, and triple the dining to provide. Thankfully, with even just one of our signature hog roasts, you’ve always got enough tender pork for twins, triplets, even quadruplets. Our task remains the same; only the host numbers change!
So head chef Duncan kept to the same preparations as we do for just about any event. The trio of birthday boys had been unanimous in picking our hog roast for their birthday dining treat. That meant an early start in the Hog Roast Kington kitchen as Duncan began prep for our pork roast in the morning to ensure that it would be ready by the 5pm serving time. With our signature hog roasts, we typically like to have at least 6-8 hours of cooking. Since the allure of our hog roast is its authentic spit cooking style, our mobile roasting machines allow us to start the process at our own kitchens and then transport it while it still cooks. This way you still get all of the spectacle of our hog roast – which the triplets made good use of, making sure to get photos alongside it – without having to wait for ages at your event.
While on site, the Hog Roast Kington team could then prep the fresh accompaniments. For this event, these were crispy crackling and sage and onion stuffing for the pork, a veggie alternative of grilled veg and halloumi skewers, and sides of seasonally leafy greens and creamy red cabbage coleslaw.
A perfect menu suited to the tastes of all three triplets on their big birthday bash!
